About Louisa Education Foundation: 

The Louisa Education Foundation (LEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to investing in the future of Louisa County by supporting teachers, students, and schools through meaningful community engagement. Our vision is to create an environment where every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Partnering closely with Louisa County Public Schools, LEF promotes classroom excellence and student engagement to ensure students are prepared for success in college, careers, and life. Our work centers around three core programs: Teacher grants, scholarships, and the Student Success Fund. 

Position Summary: 

This position serves as the primary representative of LEF, responsible for advancing the organization’s mission by managing daily operations, leading programs, and driving community engagement.

Key Functions: 

Operational Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations, including managing the general email inbox, responding to inquiries,managing email lists, and checking P.O. box

  • Prepare agendas, attend board and committee meetings, and ensure follow-up actions are completed in a timely manner

  • Process donations, issue timely acknowledgments, and manage donor records within the fundraising CRM system 

  • Support budget planning and financial forecasting in collaboration with the Board Finance Committee

  • Collaborate with the board to lead fundraising efforts, including individual giving, special events, grant submissions and reporting, and ongoing donor stewardship

Program Management

  • Manage partnership with LCPS to support 5C’s Innovation Grants and Scholarships

  • Coordinate and fulfill Student Success Fund requests in collaboration with school counselors and administrators

  • Lead scholarship application process, including communication and award distribution logistics

  • Track and report program outcomes, impact metrics, and community reach

  • Evaluate and strengthen program strategies to improve effectiveness, sustainability, and community engagement

Organizational Leadership

  • Manage and strengthen the partnership with LCPS to advance shared educational goals

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Louisa Education Foundation and the broader community, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Foundation’s goals

Skills & Characteristics: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal and external stakeholders and represent the organization with confidence

  • Ability to influence and inspire existing and new partners, donors, and community leaders 

  • Demonstrates initiative, integrity and intellectual curiosity

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines

  • Interest in education, nonprofits, or community development

Qualifications: 

  • Evening availability required for in-person and virtual board, committee, and community meetings as needed

  • Lived or work experience in Louisa County required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; strongly aligned professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Fundraising, grant writing, or nonprofit development experience preferred 

  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, donors, businesses, schools, and stakeholders 

  • Experience working collaboratively with nonprofit boards of directors and board committees

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Annual compensation of $20,000 - $25,000, paid according to an agreed-upon schedule and contract terms, with possibility of bonus structure

  • Flexible work arrangement with the ability to set hours in coordination with organizational priorities, events, and board meetings.
